What to Look For in HVAC Contractors

Hiring a contractor of any type is a difficult decision. The search usually begins in Google, but do you really know what to look for? Here are our tips to hiring HVAC Contractors and how we separate ourselves in the industry.

Whenever choosing HVAC contractors, make sure they are accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Don’t just take their word for it – search out the company profile to check to see if there are any customer complaints against them. As for other certifications to look for, it depends on the type of contractor you want to hire and what industry they belong to. At Aero Designed Systems, we are NATE (North American Technician Excellence) Certified, which is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians.

Beyond these certifications, another important way to choose an HVAC contractor is be reading over their reviews. Yelp isn’t just for restaurant reviews and is a popular place for past customers to detail their experiences with service companies. Other websites to search are Angie’s List or the company’s Facebook page. If there are no on-line reviews to be found, this could mean that the company is new or that they’re not as professional as you would probably like.

A businesses’ reputation, both through online reviews and word of mouth, speak directly to the company’s values. We make a point to pay attention to the details so that our mission of providing “quality air conditioning and heating in a timely manner… every time” is never questioned.  More than that, we vow to put people first, which includes respecting their homes and their time. Aero Designed Systems is a family-owned company and we strive to treat our customers like family. We exemplify this in several ways, specifically by:

  • Not giving quotes over the phone, visiting the site to see what is really going on
  • Providing a paper trail of estimates and work performed to protect our customers
  • Taking the time to ensure that the unit will continue to function properly, not just while we’re there
  • Taking the time to explain the work performed and answer any questions about the unit
  • Laying down tarps during installation to protect your flooring
  • Putting painters tape on the unit while sealing so the result is clean lines on the unit
  • Providing same day service, giving a time window and sticking to it
  • Cleaning up after ourselves every time!

When searching for HVAC Contractors, ask yourself which company do you trust to perform high-quality work at a fair price? Which company would you welcome into your home and confidently call upon in the future? We hope your answer is Aero Designed Systems!
