Spring Break in Lakeway, Texas
As a local, family-owned business, Aero Designed Systems has served the Lakeway area since 1980. We’ve grown to love Lakeway and consider ourselves to be very fortunate to run a business and enjoy life in this community. We wanted to share some of the fun things for the whole family to do in Lakeway and around town during spring break. For Austin, spring break marks the beginning of South by Southwest Conference and Festivals. While there are some free activities to take advantage of, the hectic traffic usually keeps locals well away from downtown. We view this as the perfect opportunity to explore all that Lakeway has to offer!
On a nice day, visit the Canyonlands Trails at 3103 Lakeway Blvd. with your family. It’s a great place to hike, bring your dog and simply enjoy the view. There’s no need to head downtown in search of trails – they’re right in our backyard!
Lake Travis Zipline Adventures isn’t just for visitors! It’s a must experience for locals as well considering it’s the longest zipline in Texas! The tour lasts approximately three hours and to participate in zipping activities, children and adults must weigh between 70 – 250 pounds. There are five different courses and beautiful views of Lake Travis to enjoy in between each zipline. By purchasing the Austin Zipline TourPackage, you also receive access to over 1/2 mile of beach to enjoy with family and friends. Water sports, hammocks and beach games are also all available for your enjoyment. Make sure to bring along a cooler and picnic basket for a shared meal on the beach!
Sometimes you just need to get away and the Lakeway Resort and Spa is just the place for a weekend staycation. The resort provides a variety of sports and recreational amenities for the entire family – including a full-service spa, three large swimming pools, a whirlpool, a swim-up bar and a slide area. For families with small children, the Lakeway Resort and Spa offers a fantastic Kid Zone complete with arts & crafts, movies, and games.
If you’d like to hear some live music in the area, mark your calendar for the Big Band Bash at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek) on March 13th at 7:30pm. Put your dancing shoes on and bring your own beverages and snacks (champagne and caviar!) to enjoy big band music from the 17-piece The Republic of Texas Big Band, featuring David Cummings and Lisa Clark on vocals. The event is sponsored by the Lakeway Arts Committee and free for all ages!
