HVAC Preventative Maintenance

There are many things to learn when you become a homeowner, and a majority of the knowledge is a result of things going wrong. Let us help advise you in the air conditioning and heating department by providing a HVAC preventative maintenance guide and identifying when to to call us. Here are a few things you can do to ensure your system has a long life:

Choose a Quality Brand & Installer
In order to avoid unnecessary maintenance or efficiency issues, we recommend going with Lennox HVAC Systems. Once you have a Lennox system in place, there are fewer issues to worry about. We are Lennox Premier Dealers and account for the smallest of details when installing in order to maximize quality.

Keep Things Clean
In the fall and spring, check around your outdoor unit snd keep it clear of debris such as branches, leaves, dirt, and pollen. You don’t necessarily have to be able to identify each part and its function in order to check that nothing is obstructed and is kept clean. When installing your unit, our team is happy to walk you through what everything should look like in situation normal.

Replace When Necessary
Air filters should be replaced every ninety days. Other parts that may need occasional swapping depend on your HVAC system. Humidifier filters should be changed in the fall and batteries for the carbon monoxide detector should be changed annually. Other parts require that you inspect once in the fall and once in the spring. If you notice that any controls or lines seem worn; that would be an indicator that it is time for one of our team members to make a visit.

Use Your Senses
You don’t need to inspect your unit daily, but use your senses in order to ensure that everything looks, sounds and feels as it should. We want you to be able to relax in your home, without wondering what that humming noise is or why it seems so much colder in one room than another. The beauty of Lennox systems is that they are designed with ultimate comfort in mind. The features fully integrate with your lifestyle, with a smart thermostat that adapts to your schedule and caters to your preferences with a ‘feels like’ option. If you hear, see, or feel something that you think is abnormal…call us! We make ourselves available 24/7 so that you can get back to what matters.

HVAC preventative maintenance is simple, effective and likely to reduce service calls and extend the life of your heating/cooling unit.
